American music and pop culture icon CHARO<\/a>\u00a0has joined the celebrity cast of the hit ABC series \u201cDancing with the Stars\u201d, which premiered its 24tth<\/sup> season and 400th<\/sup> episode LIVE on Monday, March 20. And she stole the show! Shocked at her low marks from the judges, Charo\u2019s zeroed in on judge Bruno Tonioli telling \u201cI\u2019m looking at you, Bruno.\u201d\u00a0 Host Tom Bergeron and Charo\u2019s partner Keo Motsepe then had to restrain Charo from marching over to Bruno and the crowd went wild!\u00a0 On social media, Twitter\u00a0 was abuzz with Charo\u2019s antics endearing her to a whole new generation of fans.
\nCharo\u2019s glowing performance<\/a>\u00a0on Dancing With The Stars, matters because it demonstrates to America and the world that people of a certain age, especially veteran performers like Charo, are in complete and total command of their craft and should not be under estimated because of their age. Since the 1970\u2019s Charo has been a fixture on American television delighting millions with her \u201ccuchi cuchi\u201d personality and her virtuoso guitar skills.\u00a0 And, although Charo\u2019s true age is the subject of much speculation, she remains a timeless classic.
\nCharo demonstrated last night that she\u2019s still got it.\u00a0 Her dancing was in top form. Her partner Keo Motsepe is a fantastic dancer and drove the routine, keeping Charo in check til the end. But it was her her showmanship that won the night.\u00a0 Charo showed us what performing LIVE in front of an audience is all about.
\nCharo\u2019s triumph comes because of her age and not in spite of it.\u00a0 It is her deep experience and finely tuned skills which make the magic possible.\u00a0 We wish Charo and Team Cuchi Cuchi a long and happy star on Dancing with the Stars and hope she and Keo walk away with the Mirror Ball Trophy.
