Women will gather in Malibu on November 2 as the Annual Alegría Day Fest & Retreat returns with a series of wellness and self-love activities to awaken creativity and the power of womanhood. The day’s schedule kicks off with a welcome lunch and a presentation on Ayurveda: The Art of Sacred Medicine, followed by yoga, beauty bar, dance, singing, meditation, water healing, breathing and soul work. This year, Alegría Day Fest is sponsoring 10 women who are currently struggling with mental health issues and domestic violence, who will attend free of charge. Click to register.

Alegría is the creation of Davina Ferreira, author, entrepreneur and motivational speaker who has written several books. Ferreira grew up in Colombia and is the quintessential symbol of the immigrant’s American Dream. Upon arriving in the U.S. Ferreira attended college and began a career in journalism, which led her to write her books “Finding My Alegría,” an autobiographical tale of her personal journey as well as “Take Me With You,” a collection of poetry and short stories.
